Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) bashed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) over her stance on impeaching President Joe Biden.
The public denouncement could be seen as unusual, as Buck is typically seen as coming from the same ideological camp as Greene, being a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. He made the statement in an appearance on MSNBC, telling host Jen Psaki that he doesn’t think an impeachment would go anywhere and that Republicans should turn their attention elsewhere.

“We have really important issues facing this country,” Buck said.
“And as Republicans, we need to stay focused on the border. We need to stay focused on crime, particularly in urban areas. We need to stay focused on inflation. Those are issues that Americans care about, and they want to see a change in leadership in the White House as a result of those, and we start going down these paths that really bear no fruit. We are not going to get an impeachment through the Senate.”
“We can waste our time on issues that are not important or we can focus on issues that are,” he added. “The reality is that the impeachment process is one that is going on right now. … There is not a strong connection at this point between the evidence on Hunter Biden and any evidence connecting the president.”
Buck also denied widespread reports of abuse against Jan. 6 prisoners, claiming there was no evidence they were treated differently than any other prisoners.
We don’t have the votes for impeachment, plain and simple. @HouseGOP must instead stay focused on addressing issues that harm everyday Americans, i.e., a porous southern border, rampant, inner-city crime, and skyrocketing inflation. pic.twitter.com/V0FnhEcZoJ

The Colorado Republican also took aim at Greene directly.
“The idea that she is now the expert on impeachment or that she is someone who should set the timing on impeachment is absurd,” he said. “The time for impeachment is the time when there’s evidence linking President Biden, if there’s evidence linking President Biden, to a high crime or misdemeanor. That doesn’t exist right now.”

Greene hit back at Buck, denouncing him as a “Democrat” trying to win Biden’s approval.
When is Ken Buck going to announce he’s a Democrat?
The amount of shilling for Joe Biden is astounding.
Almost like he’s hoping Joe is going to appoint him for something.https://t.co/Yb5j1g2ZPz
