Massachusetts’ 911 system has gone down across the entire state, the Boston Fire Department revealed.

State residents are to call the Boston Fire Department in case of emergency.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu advised residents to contact other officials such as local police departments or to pull their nearest Fire Box in case of emergency during a press conference, CNN reported.

“The current 991 system is down statewide, if you have an emergency and need assistance pull your nearest Fire Box, or call the Boston Fire Department at 617-343-2880. You can also get assistance by going to your nearest Firehouse,” a post from the Boston Fire Department’s Twitter account reads. The state has notified residents of the outage via digital public safety alerts.

Officials have not said what caused the outage, CNN report. It is unknown how long the outage is expected to last.
