Mike Pence had an amusing response to an Iowa heckler who told the former vice president to “leave and get the f*** out of our country and get the f*** out of Iowa!”

The former vice president laughed off the angry man who was escorted out of the room while Pence was glad-handing voters.

With the Iowa caucuses just three months out, presidential hopefuls have been campaigning in the Hawkeye State looking to make their case as their party’s nominee in 2024.

In August, a number of candidates visited the Iowa State Fair to get a head start on the nation’s first presidential primary of the 2024 election season. Prominent attendees included Pence, former President Donald Trump, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.

Pence was one of the candidates interviewed by Gov. Kim Reynolds (R-IA) as part of the event’s “Fair-Side Chats,” something he criticized the former president for not participating in.

Pence was met with repeated heckling from Trump supporters — some labeled him a traitor, and others called into question his Christian faith. He lost favor among the most ardent Trump supporters for refusing to support attempts to overturn the election and dismissing claims of election fraud.

Polling between sixth and eighth place with Iowa Republicans, Pence’s support is teetering between 1% and 3%. Trump has been by far the front-runner in the state, polling in first place with approximately 50% support.

Nationally, Pence is claiming just over 5% of support — good for fifth place among Republicans. Trump still leads the way with roughly 54% support.
