Celebrity Paris Hilton will speak at a hearing for the House Ways & Means Committee on “strengthening child welfare and protecting America’s children,” at 10:00 a.m.

Hilton is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, who founded the Hilton hotel chain. She’s known as a prominent California socialite and has appeared in a variety of media settings such as commercials, television shows and social media channels.

Chairman Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO) and Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI) recently introduced legislation that will “prevent child removal from homes solely due to poverty.”
