Ashley Judd calls on Biden to drop out after scare with Trump-loving family – Washington Examiner

Actress Ashley Judd called on President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential election on Friday due to his “obvious limitations,” according to an opinion piece she wrote.

Judd, 56, decided to call for Biden’s exit in her op-ed article in USA Today following his June 27 debate debacle against former President Donald Trump and witnessing some of her family members’ love for the 45th president, she wrote days after George Clooney rocked Democrats via his own call for Biden with withdraw from the race.

“I listened to one of my dearest people share some of those beliefs and thoughts, it hurt. I was shaken,” Judd wrote. “I do not necessarily think all Trump supporters believe, feel, act and speak like this. I know Donald Trump himself does. That is critical. That is why I have come to realize that my private, personal belief is one I should no longer just keep to myself.”

Biden’s limitations make him unfit to battle the “cruelty” espoused by Trump, and America cannot be left to endure another Trump term, she wrote.

“I feel immense, bereft sadness at the beliefs Donald Trump holds, and that his supporters endorse. But that sadness is trivial compared to the hurt, devastation and loss millions will feel if Donald Trump is reelected,” the Heat actress argued. “He would wield the power of the presidency with unprecedented, incalculable cruelty and unfairness.”

Preventing the election of Trump and the alleged installment of Project 2025, which was created by the Heritage Foundation (a conservative think tank), appears to be the highest priority for the actress and outspoken Democrat. She declared voters deserve a real choice for the Democratic ticket. Trump, however, has distanced himself from the initiative, saying that he “knew nothing about it.”

“Some in Washington may want to wait for the next week, the next press conference, the next network interview. Here, where I sit in rural Tennessee, it is clear that Americans have already made up their minds against President Biden, on top of the majority who love to vote for Donald Trump,” she wrote.
