Eric Trump says DNC pro-Palestinian protesters represent ‘modern-day Democratic Party’ – Washington Examiner

Eric Trump condemned the pro-Palestinian protests taking place outside the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, arguing they represent the “modern Democratic Party.”

The DNC has been plagued by protesters voicing their opposition to the United States’s support for Israel amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, who have been spotted burning the U.S. flag as part of their protests. The son of former President Donald Trump spoke very harshly against these protesters and their treatment of law enforcement, citing how he has seen images of them “spitting on cops” and “calling them pigs.”

“This is the modern-day Democratic Party,” Trump said on Fox News’s Hannity. “You went back to Milwaukee, look at the convention that we had. We didn’t have anything other than love. We had American flags. We had people singing ‘God bless America.’ We had people with tears in their eyes when my father came out. They love this country. They love our nation. They love our Constitution. They love everything that makes America great. And then look at the parallel that you’re seeing right up there on the screen where, again, cops are getting abused, people are rioting in the streets, there’s disorder. I mean, this isn’t America. We’re so much better than this!”

Donald Trump himself has taken to social media to criticize the protests, reiterating his suggestion to give anyone who burns the U.S. flag one year in jail.

Eric Trump also criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for the rebranding she and the media are giving her political ideals, citing how she recently flipped on a number of policies since filling President Joe Biden’s spot as the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nominee. He contended that Harris’s flip is “not believable” due to how Harris has not used her political power to enact the policies on which she is campaigning.

The former president’s son also knocked Harris for copying his father’s promise to not tax service workers’ tips, calling it “really embarrassing” that the press is assisting in her attempted rebrand.
