Ramaswamy slams DNC ‘joy’ as worthless vibe: ‘Style over substance’ – Washington Examiner

Former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign has reason to continue avoiding any policy discussion.

“This is a vibe. They’re trying to run this entire campaign on style over substance,” Ramaswamy told the Ingraham Angle, noting her time in politics to date has conditioned her to do so.

“She had a pavlovian experience. She was trained that when you put your hand in the policy cookie jar, when it bit back she said that she doesn’t want to touch policy anymore,” he added. “So the reality is, can she get through this election naturally for 80 more days without touching policy? I think it is possible that she can, which has our work cut out for us.”

Harris has faced criticism for her having yet to hold an interview or press conference that would require her to defend the Biden-Harris policies and address the policy positions of her campaign.

Ramaswamy also noted policies that Harris has supported in the past, including a single-payer health care system, tax on unrealized capitalized gains, and those increasing illegal immigration.

Harris replaced President Joe Biden’s atop the 2024 Democratic presidential ticket when he withdrew from his bid for reelection on July 21. Thirty-two days later, on the final night of the Democratic National Convention Thursday, she is set to accept the party’s nomination.
