FACT CHECK: Did Donald Trump Post A Score In The Aftermath Of Assassination Attempt?

Before a short hearing on Monday, the suspect in the Trump assassination attempt laughed and smiled when speaking to his attorney, Fox News reported. The suspect, Ryan Routh, appeared in court in Florida wearing shackles.

A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, allegedly shows a post from Trump in the aftermath of the recent assassination attempt that simply reads, “0-2”

The claim is inaccurate. There is no record of this post on Trump’s Truth Social account, shown in the alleged screenshot. There is no record of this post on any of Trump’s other social media accounts or his website.

Trump did share a response to the attempt on Truth Social saying, “I would like to thank everyone for your concern and well wishes – It was certainly an interesting day! Most importantly, I want to thank the U.S. Secret Service, Sheriff Ric Bradshaw and his Office of brave and dedicated Patriots, and, all of Law Enforcement, for the incredible job done today.”

This is not the first time misinformation has circulated online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim that the military was being deployed to Springfield, Ohio to protect pets.
