Former President Donald Trump said in a new podcast interview that the United States faces opponents within its own country, specifically from “an amorphous group of lunatics.”
Trump created controversy when he stated in a Sunday interview that “the enemy from within” the U.S. is greater than foreign enemies, deeming “radical left lunatics” as this enemy within the country. The former president discussed this again in a new podcast appearance, contending these people are “sort of sick” but “not stupid.”
“I think it’s an amorphous group,” Trump said on the Patrick-Bet David podcast. “It’s not one person, it’s an amorphous group of lunatics, and when they come together, they’re pretty bad.”
The former president also discussed President Joe Biden and theorized that the Democratic Party used the president “like a vessel in a night.” Trump then warned that Vice President Kamala Harris, who replaced Biden’s candidacy following the president’s decision to drop his reelection bid, is “a little bit more dangerous” than Biden and that “she’s basically a Marxist.”
Trump also questioned why Harris’s father had not been interviewed ahead of the presidential election, stating, “I haven’t seen one article” looking into her father. Trump added her father is “a Marxist professor of economics,” which he was puzzled by since “Marxist and economics don’t go together.”
The Patrick-Bet David podcast is the latest Trump has appeared on. The former president has relied on this medium more in this election cycle compared to 2016 and 2020. Trump has also been interviewed recently on the Lex Fridman podcast, Logan Paul’s ImPaulsive, and Nelk Boys’s Full Send Podcast.

The former president has claimed he will also appear on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, currently the most popular Spotify podcast in the United States. However, Rogan has yet to confirm Trump’s appearance.
Meanwhile, Harris recently appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast in a bid to win over women voters. The vice president also partook in an interview with Fox News’s Bret Baier on Wednesday evening.
