Ramaswamy says it’s almost ‘beautiful’ to see Harris campaign ‘come undone’ – Washington Examiner

Former 2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy suggested the wheels on Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign are “spiraling” off, adding that President Joe Biden’s recent comment on Republicans is “a welcome October surprise.”

Biden deemed supporters of former President Donald Trump “garbage” while condemning a joke one of the former president’s Madison Square Garden rally speakers told about Puerto Rico. Ramaswamy compares Biden’s comment to 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” comment. Ramaswamy also floated the idea that the Biden family is “secretly” rooting for Trump against Harris since they are “vengeful” due to the number of Democrats calling for Biden to suspend his reelection bid earlier this year.

“But regardless, it is a welcome October surprise because let’s take a big step back with what’s going on here: the wheels are coming off the car, and they’re spiraling,” Ramaswamy said on Fox News’s Hannity. “And now you see the accusations of the other side being Hitler or piles of garbage. You’re going to hear a lot about threats to democracy next week. They’re flailing, Sean. They understand Americans are not falling for their trick anymore. Donald Trump has a record that he’s running on, they’re frustrated by it, and I think it’s in some ways a beautiful thing for our side to watch this completely come undone and turn the page on this ugly chapter of our history.”

With less than a week left before Election Day, Ramaswamy contended that, unlike Trump, Harris does not have any accomplishment that she can point to during her time as vice president and is instead making false claims against her opponent. He also rebuked Democrats and the Harris campaign for pushing Trump as a “threat to democracy” when there have already been two assassination attempts on the former president’s life and suggested the Harris campaign should apologize for its rhetoric since “they know they’re going to lose.”

Ramaswamy was also asked how he would grade the media’s coverage of Harris and the Biden administration, to which he gave either “an F” or “a D-” to those who highlighted Harris’s campaign flip-flops. He added that voters are not “falling” for Harris’s policy changes, adding that they are instead choosing to support Trump’s message of unifying the country.

Last week, Ramaswamy rebuked Biden’s comment that voters ought to “politically lock” up Trump in this election and predicted that the former president would win in a “landslide” victory.

Biden’s comment against Trump supporters is not the first time the president has undermined Harris’s presidential bid, as he sported a Trump 2024 hat after visiting a 9/11 memorial. He also praised Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for his response and preparation for hurricanes Helene and Milton last month, stating the Florida governor had been doing “a great job.”

The Trump campaign has slammed Biden’s comment, with Karoline Leavitt, the campaign’s national press secretary, arguing Harris and Biden hate both Trump and the “tens of millions of Americans” who support him. The former president, meanwhile, has joked that Biden is so aloof that he probably did not realize he had made the remark against his supporters.

On Wednesday morning, Harris attempted to distance herself from Biden’s remarks.

“I strongly disagree with any criticism of people based on who they vote for,” Harris said. “As you heard in my speech last night and continuously throughout my career, I believe that the work that I do is about representing all the people, whether they support me or not. And as president of the United States, I will be a president for all Americans, whether you vote for me or not.”
