Whatley calls for strong Nov. 5 turnout: 2024 is an ‘inflection point election’ – Washington Examiner

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley encouraged voters to come to the polls not just for the country’s sake but for the effect the election could have on the world.

Election Day is two days away, with a contest between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. A RealClearPolitics poll average from Wednesday morning showed Trump has a slight 0.2-point lead nationwide, which prompted Whatley to appear on Life, Liberty, and Levin Saturday to rally voters behind his party’s candidate.

“This is an inflection point election. What’s going to happen here is not just going to set the course for America for the next four years; it’s going to set the courts for the world for generations to come,” Whatley said. “The world right now is going in a bad direction. It’s in a dangerous direction. When America’s weak, the world is a far more dangerous place. When he wins, he’s going to have a chance to course-correct everything that’s going on at our border. Everything that’s happening with our economy and everything that’s happening around the world.”

Whatley expressed his excitement at the early voting data. He predicted that the turnout so far would lead to wins in Arizona, Nevada, and North Carolina.

Two weeks after early voting began and four days before Election Day, North Carolina reported nearly 50% of registered voters had already cast their ballots. However, the state is reporting fewer black voters have done the same, with 17.44% of early ballots coming from this group.
