Emmer raises $34 million in 2024 cycle to defend GOP House majority – Washington Examiner

EXCLUSIVE — House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) raised more than four times the amount of money during the 2024 cycle than he did in the midterm elections, according to figures shared with the Washington Examiner.

Emmer raised $34 million during the 2024 cycle, a 325% increase from the $8 million he raised as the head of the National Republican Congressional Committee during the 2022 cycle. Of that haul, Emmer transferred more than $14 million directly to the NRCC as well as GOP candidates and incumbents.

The massive fundraising haul comes after Emmer has spent the month of October traversing the country, appearing alongside 54 different House Republican candidates and incumbents running in competitive districts. In total, Emmer traveled to 62 cities across 17 states last month alone.

“Americans cannot afford four more years of Kamala Harris and the Democrats’ failed policies that have wreaked havoc on our economy, borders, and standing around the world,” Emmer said in a statement. “House Republicans are leaving it all on the field ahead of Election Day to ensure we grow our majority, send President Trump back to the White House, and deliver on our America First agenda.”

Emmer’s travels build on efforts from other GOP leaders to boost their party’s candidates and defend their slim House majority next year.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) raised $27.5 million between July 1 and Sept. 30, including more than $19.4 million for his committees and another $8.1 million for individual members and candidates. That’s the most money a Republican speaker has ever raised in the third quarter of a presidential election year, according to the speaker’s office.

He’s also traveled to more than 210 cities across 40 states to campaign for GOP incumbents and candidates, with 24 states in October alone.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) has also raised significant sums, reporting a haul of $70 million during the 2024 cycle, giving $15 million to the House GOP campaign arm and another $10.4 million to individual candidates. The majority leader has appeared alongside candidates at 66 events across 28 states in October alone.
