On Nov. 2, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin attended a rally for 2024 GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump hosted in Roanoke County, per local news reports.

A clip shared to TikTok on Nov. 4 shows a massive crowd that was portrayed as being footage from the Nov.2 rally in Salem. The 10-second video shows the crowd outdoors, facing a stage from which an American flag is being flown. Attendees can be heard chanting “we want Trump.” A banner reading “Salem, Virginia” has been added to the footage and the caption reads, “#trump.”

The clip was taken from a longer video, lasting 43 seconds, which was posted on TikTok on Oct. 14 by the Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival. It was posted on Oct. 14, just one day after the organization concluded its annual concert series in Austin, Texas. The clip was from an Oct. 6 performance of singer-songwriter Chappell Roan.

The original footage and the clip shared on Nov. 4 both show the crowd, the American flag and the stage, on which Roan can be seen. However, the clip was altered to enhance brightness and cover the crowd singing artist Darude’s song “Sandstorm” with chants of “we want Trump,” as noted by Lead Stories. Trump’s rally was held indoors at the Salem Civic Center. The rally was also a month after the concert footage was captured. We rate this claim false.
