Harris watch party is ‘nauseously optimistic’ as campaign tells people to ‘get sleep’ – Washington Examiner

MSNBC assessed that the mood for Vice President Kamala Harris’s watch party is “nauseously optimistic” as election night progresses, which has proved to be a very contested race.

Harris’s campaign chairwoman, Jen O’Malley Dillon, informed campaign workers that they should “get some sleep, and get ready to close out strong tomorrow,” as the vice president is in a “razor thin race.” In reporting from the ground, network anchor Michele Norris noted how the crowd has become more “subdued” as the night continues.

“And the word that I keep hearing, it must be some new phrase that has entered the lexicon, is the idea that people are nauseously optimistic,” Norris said. “Not just cautiously optimistic, but nauseously optimistic.”

Norris noted how one of the people she had heard this information from is Sen. Laphonza Butler (D-CA) and that she and others are now looking to the “blue wall,” being Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, to bring Harris’s campaign back in play in the Electoral College.

On CNN, anchor Abby Phillip argued the Harris campaign is still “waiting” for polls to close in Sun Belt states and is also looking to the blue wall as the best chance for Harris to get 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency.

Abby Phillip reports Harris campaign is struggling to find a path to 270. John King of CNN cannot stop saying ‘I’d rather be Trump’ in terms of who is doing better in swing states:

Fellow network anchor John King, however, assessed that two of these three states in the blue wall, being Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, are leaning towards former President Donald Trump. He underscored that while the race is “not done,” Harris’s bid in swing states like North Carolina are not looking to be in her favor.

Besides North Carolina, Trump also maintains the advantage in Georgia. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger told reporters Tuesday night that the former president opened up an insurmountable lead, though the Associated Press has not called the race.

Harris, meanwhile, has won Virginia in the Electoral College, a state that has been won by every Democratic presidential candidate since 2008. However, she won the state by a smaller margin than President Joe Biden when he was running against Trump in 2020.
