Assistant U.S. Attorney Blocked Agents From Investigating Joe Biden As Part Of Probe Into Hunter, Report Shows

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf of Delaware blocked federal agents from investigating then-Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden as part of an investigation into Hunter Biden’s alleged violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), according to a new report.

The House Ways and Means Committee’s new 700-page report included an email from Aug. 7, 2020, in which Wolf instructed agents to remove Biden from the investigation entirely, according to the report. The trove of documents is to support testimony by whistleblowers from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) who allege that the Department of Justice (DOJ) gave Hunter special treatment during the agency’s investigation into his tax and gun allegations.

“As a priority, someone needs to redraft attachment B. I am not sure what this is cut and pasted from but other than the attribution, location and identity stuff at the end, none if it is appropriate and within the scope of this warrant,” the email said, according to the report. “Please focus on FARA evidence only. There should be nothing about Political Figure 1 in here.”

Biden was listed as “Political Figure 1,” in a document related to the investigation, which labeled him as “Political Figure 1: Former Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr.” (RELATED: Prosecutor Ignored Apparent ‘Campaign Finance Criminal Violations’ Flagged By IRS Whistleblower, Memo Shows)

“VP Biden is currently the Democratic Party Presidential candidate for the United States and served as the 47th officeholder for the position of the Office of the Vice President of the United States (VPOTUS) in the Barack Obama Administration from January 20, 2009 to January 20, 2017. He is the father of SUBJECT 1 [Hunter Biden],” the document’s description reads, according to the Ways and Means Committee’s report.

Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, the two IRS whistleblowers, testified that Wolf stonewalled federal agents from building a case against Hunter by blocking IRS agents from searching a guesthouse located on Biden’s Delaware property where Hunter had been living off and on. Wolf is a lifelong Democrat who previously worked for corporate law firm Ropes & Gray, which allocated 91 percent of its political donations to Democrats between 2017 and 2020.

The Ways and Means Committee’s report consists of what the committee says is evidence to support the impeachment inquiry into Biden. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy launched the investigation Sept. 12 in order to investigate whether Biden participated in an influence-peddling scheme to benefit Hunter’s overseas business dealings.
