A viral post shared on Facebook claims Kroger, Food Lion, and Publix have announced a 4% price cut following the 2024 presidential election.

Trump met with President Joe Biden in the Oval Office Wednesday, according to NBC News. During the meeting, Trump thanked Biden for a “smooth transition,” the outlet reported.
The Facebook post, which has garnered over 1,000 likes as of writing, claims Kroger, Food Lion, and Publix have announced a 4% price cut following the 2024 presidential election.
“Kroeger [sic], Food Lion, and Publix all announced a 4 percent price cut across the board. He’s already making a difference,” the post which refers to President-Elect Donald Trump and does not provide a source to support its claim, reads.
The claim is false and originally stems from the satirical “America – Love It Or Leave It” Facebook page. According to the Facebook page’s bio, it is “a subsidiary of the America’s Last Line of Defense [ALLOD] network of trollery and propaganda.”
Likewise, none of the three grocery stores named in the Facebook post have issued a press release or social media statement referencing the claim.
In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On November 12, Snopes debunked the claim, tracing its origin to the satirical Facebook page. (RELATED: Did Sephora Donate To Trump’s 2024 Presidential Campaign?)
Trump secured the 270 electoral votes needed to become the 47th president of the United States of America on Nov. 5, according to Reuters.
