WW3 WATCH: One Day After First US-Made ATACMS Strike, Ukrainians Shoot British-Made Storm Shadow Missiles into Russia’s Kursk Region (VIDEOS)
One day after lame-duck US President Joe Biden put the West into a collision course against Moscow over the authorization to shoot long-range missiles into Russian territory, the escalations continue.
Today, Ukrainian forces exploited the US authorization to shoot UK-made Storm Shadow missiles, a necessary step because of the US components.
Reuters reported:
“Ukraine fired a volley of British Storm Shadow cruise missiles into Russia on Wednesday, the latest new Western weapon it has been permitted to use on Russian targets a day after it fired U.S. ATACMS missiles.
The strikes were widely reported by Russian war correspondents on Telegram and confirmed by an official on condition of anonymity. A spokesperson for Ukraine’s general staff said he had no such information at present.”

“Russian war correspondent accounts on Telegram posted footage they said included the sound of the missiles striking in Kursk region. At least 14 huge explosions can be heard, most of them preceded by the sharp whistle of what sounds like an incoming missile. The footage, shot in a residential area, showed black smoke rising in the distance.”
Pro-Russian Telegram channels carried pictures of pieces of missile with the name Storm Shadow clearly visible.
“The Storm Shadows have a range in excess of 250 km (155 miles) and would give Ukraine the ability to hit targets far deeper into Russia than before.”

In the end, while catastrophic retaliation is still on the table, it may be that Russia will focus on the rapid territorial gains that it’s achieving all along the frontline.
And also, Ukraine has few missiles. Simplicius at Substack:
“Russia has launched over 6000-7000 total missiles at Ukraine during the war thus far, and one can see Ukraine is still kicking. But Russia—vastly larger and more resourceful than Ukraine—is supposed to be battered by 50 ATACMS and 10 French missiles? Give me a break—it’s just fodder for the chuds. Ukraine will continue getting methodically deconstructed with no delay.”
