The claim stems from satire.

President-elect Donald Trump announced that Florida Republican Rep Matt Gaetz will be his nominee for Attorney General just as he resigns from his position in congress, Fox News reported. Gaetz was accused of having sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl and was to be investigated by the House Ethics Committee, but they may now lose jurisdiction, according to the outlet.

A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, alleges that Schiff was forced to pay a family for an undisclosed lawsuit involving a child. The post shared an image of Schiff with a finger on his temple.

The caption reads, “Shouldn’t all the Congressional ‘shush fund’ payments be revealed? Now, ask yourself why are they so afraid of Matt Geatz being AG?”
