Fact Check:

Turkish airstrikes have cut off access to water and electricity to over a million people in Syria, according to BBC News. Turkey struck energy facilities such as power stations and gas facilities under control of the Kurdish-dominated Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), between October 2019 and January 2024, per the outlet.

Social media users are claiming that Turkey is gonna leave NATO, which has been part of the alliance since 1952. One user wrote, “Break Turkey is leaving NATO Turkish political and government officials are signing the legal draft of Turkey’s withdrawal from NATO.”

Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not stated it is leaving NATO. Its latest press release, dated Nov. 16, is in reference to the European Union, titled “Regarding Maritime Spatial Planning of the European Union.”
