My long-held doomer belief—which does not reflect the opinions of the WIRED editorial staff or Reviews team at large—is that they’re going to get it anyway so you might as well figure out if you have cousins in Sicily.

I just drove across three states for Thanksgiving with the in-laws, and ended up having to fight the Black Friday crowds because I left my Apple Watch charger sitting on my nightstand (and I am apparently now addicted to my Apple Watch). What’s better than a fantastic-sounding Bluetooth speaker? How about one that also offers Wi-Fi support to connect with a home audio setup? That’s the beauty of the Sonos Roam 2 (9/10, WIRED Recommended), which may just be the most versatile portable speaker you can buy. It’s got the durability of a Bluetooth speaker, including the ability to be dropped in water for short spells, yet it also works great as a homebound companion, able to connect with other Sonos speakers in a multi-room audio system. The latest version adds a convenient new Bluetooth speaker that makes it much easier to take it to and from your adventures. With a sale price similar to most regular ‘ole Bluetooth speakers, it’s a sweet deal that’s tough to pass up.

Google’s Pixel Watch 3 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is unquestionably beautiful to gaze upon, but it’s also got the smarts and skills to back up its good looks. It earns its spot as the best Android Smartwatch thanks to accurate health and fitness features, great integration with Google apps, a bigger and more convenient 45mm face, and breezy usability with any Android phone. If you’re an Android user with Apple Watch envy, this little beauty just might be the cure.

A year ago, I would’ve told you I hated percale sheets. I like a soft sheet, and percale is known for being crispy, if not stiff. It’s due to the one-over-one thread pattern, compared to softer sateen sheets that use a three-over-one thread style that makes it softer. But the one-over-one is much more breathable, making percale an ideal sheet if you’re a hot sleeper like I am.

For my fellow soft-sheet fans who are tired of sweating, the universe heard us and there’s all kinds of fantastic, soft percale sheets that launched this year. I don’t really know what to do about the fact that ever since reviewer Scott Gilbertson told me about this waxed trucker jacket (now featured in our Gifts for Manly Men), I have wanted the women’s version. I want it. I want people to get confused when they see me next to pictures of Pedro Pascal in The Last of Us. “Who is that small, small man?” I want them to say. I can almost hear them now.

I just discovered cold plunging. I get why people like it—it’s kind of exhilarating to do something so unpleasant!—but I’m not sure I’m a convert quite yet. Reviewer Martin Cizmar tested Sun Home’s sturdy premium version, which is the only one of the ones we tested that’s able to go as low as 33 degrees (eeek!). All of Sun Home’s offerings are $600-$800 off right now; I’ll shortly be testing a sauna and hope to have better, warmer results.

Sony’s WH-1000XM5 (9/10, WIRED Recommends) provide a sweet balance of performance and features worthy of the company’s flagship wireless headphones. You’ll get excellent sound, great noise canceling, and Sony’s best sound and usability features, all in a slick and comfy design. I especially love the quick-pause transparency mode, which lets you hold your hand on the ear cup to briefly pause your TV show, song, or podcast and let in exterior sounds to hear announcements or make a drink order. All of the touch controls are responsive and intuitive, creating a premium experience. My only knock on these cans is they don’t fold down completely like the previous model, making them a bit harder to pack. On the other hand, the case is slimmer, so they’re still easy to take along, and even easier to love—especially at this price.

If you like high-end yet understated travel accessories, you’ll love Cuyana’s pebbled leather travel beauty case. We tested it for our guide to the Best Toiletry Bags and were impressed with how securely the case stored makeup—even a fall from 5 feet onto hard tile didn’t dislodge a single ounce of eyeshadow. It’s available in black, pink, or ecru and comes wrapped in a fabric dustbag, perfect for gifting.

Klipsch’s Flexus Core 200 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) sounds way too good to be this cheap. This bar doesn’t offer fancy extras like Wi-Fi streaming for AirPlay or Spotify Connect playback, but it’s got the goods where it counts. You’ll get clear and bruting sound from its MDF-constructed frame, including true upfiring drivers to spin around Dolby Atmos height effects. As the Flexus name implies, this bar can change up its vibe by allowing you to add surround sound speakers and a massive Klipsch subwoofer for a full multi-piece audio system. Even on its own, the Flexus is a contender, providing some of the best soundbar performance you can buy for the money.

When everybody zigs, sometimes it feels good to zag. Case in point, the OnePlus Pad 2. This is not an iPad, confusing name aside, but it just so happens to be our favorite tablet that doesn’t follow the Apple way. You’ll get smooth performance, a bright 12.1-inch LCD screen, and snappy response thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset (see what I did there?). Our favorite part about the Pad 2 is OpenCanvas, which lets you multitask with up to three apps onscreen at once. Mobile reviewer and Senior Commerce Editor Julian Chokkattu says that makes it the best Android tablet for catching up on your favorite streaming shows while flying through emails in bed. What more could you ask for?

JBL’s latest Clip Bluetooth speaker is another exercise in convenience. Its titular clip and IP67 weatherproofing allow it to stand in as a perfect shower speaker, but its warm and detailed performance suggests it’s meant for much more. I’ve clipped the speaker on everything from a tree on a camping trip to my belt loop for yard work. It offers 12 hours of battery (up to 15 hours in the extended mode), while JBL’s app makes it easy to adjust the sound or connect it with dozens of other speakers for a Bluetooth party. Its rugged construction and excellent performance make it a great buy, especially on a good sale.
