Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is being checked by a medical team after a fall as he was leaving a GOP lunch.
He was reportedly taken to his office after the fall, where a medical attended to him with a wheelchair.
Incoming Senate Republican Leader John Thune (R-SD) said that the Kentucky Republican was “fine.”
According to Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY), he fell as he was leaving the GOP lunch in a room just outside the Senate floor. He had a small scratch on his face that was bleeding, but was “100%” with it mentally. The medical team is ensuring that the injuries aren’t more serious.
McConnell’s team confirmed that he’s “fine” and will release more details shortly.
