Verdict: False

Schwarzenegger is currently filming a movie, with the appearance in the video being part of his costume.

Fact Check:

Schwarzenegger served as the 38th Governor of California following an illustrious filming career. The former 7-time Mr. Olympia won office as a Republican, finishing the term of previous Governor Gray Davis who was recalled, before returning to the film industry at the end of his tenure. Following his governorship, Schwarzenegger has faced sharp criticism in recent years for his stance on COVID-19 vaccinations and his support for what many felt like government overreach in the form of lockdowns.

A video being shared on social media with over 8 million views shows Schwarzenegger walking down a New York City street, surrounded by bodyguards. He looks like he has aged, and he is wearing a Christmas themed sweater. The caption comments on his appearance, stating the actor has “aged 200 years in 2 months.”

This is misleading. Schwarzenegger is seen in costume, as he is in New York filming a movie titled “The Man With The Bag,” in which he plays the role of Santa.

Schwarzenegger, now 77 years old, did have surgery in 2024 to have a pacemaker inserted, and has had several open-heart surgeries in his lifetime. He is not known to have any other health issues at the moment, and is said to be in good health otherwise.
