Incoming border czar Tom Homan promised transparency while pursuing President-elect Donald Trump‘s immigration policies, which include mass deportations.
Since Trump named Homan as one of his first appointees, the incoming border czar’s planned deportation methods have been scrutinized. Homan dismissed criticisms that the mass deportations would be inhumane and racist. Instead, he promised to be the opposite of President Joe Biden’s border czar, Vice President Kamala Harris.
“We’ll be doing what the current administration isn’t doing, Varney, we’re going to be transparent with the American people,” Homan said on Fox Business’s Varney & Co. on Tuesday. “We’re going to show the American people we know how to do this, and we’re going to do it the right way. We’re going to be very transparent and let the American people know what we’re doing every week.”
The plan, as explained by Trump and Homan, is to first focus on deporting immigrants who are convicted of crimes or who have committed crimes since entering the United States and then work to deport those who have illegally crossed the border. Among the estimated 10 million immigrants who illegally entered the U.S. since Biden took office, 1.3 million of them have outstanding deportation orders.

Homan lamented that the Biden administration is only accelerating its disruption of the incoming immigration policies as it continues to sell pieces of the border wall and release thousands more illegal immigrants.
Even after the White House began auctioning off portions of the border wall from Arizona last year, those buyers have since reached out to Homan, who said they are willing to sell back the wall portions for exactly what they paid for them.
