As he departed from Los Angeles on Friday night, President Trump responded to the news of Pete Hegseth’s successful confirmation as Defense Secretary.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the Senate voted on confirmation of Pete Hegseth Friday after a 51-49 vote on Thursday to invoke cloture and break the filibuster.

RINO Senators Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME) on Thursday voted against advancing Hegseth’s nomination to a final floor vote.

RINO Mitch McConnell (R-KY) then joined his fellow RINOs voting against Hegseth Friday, teeing up a tiebreaker vote by Vice President JD Vance. Vance was the tiebreaker, voting in favor of Hegseth’s nomination.

President Trump responded on Truth Social, "Congratulations to Pete Hegseth. He will make a great Secretary of Defense!"

After a roundtable conference on the wildfires in Los Angeles, California, President Trump spoke to the press and responded to the news.

He showed no regard for the three RINOs who voted against Hegseth when asked about McConnell's vote and instead cheered on the victory. "I just heard that we won. Winning is what matters, right?" Trump said.

Watch below:

Trump: I'm honored to have Pete. I think Pete's going to be a great Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, and we're honored to have him. I think Pete is going to be a great Secretary of Defense.

Reporter: Are you disappointed that McConnell voted no?

Trump: I didn't even know that, no. I don't know that. I just heard that we won. Winning is what matters, right? So thank you very much everybody.
