Uber and Uber Eats users can partake in a new feature from both apps that allows them to return packages to the major package delivery outlets.

The new feature, available Wednesday, is titled “Return a Package” and allows people to deliver up to five packages at a time and drop them off at a local post office, UPS, or FedEx. The cost to use this feature is either $5 or $3 for those who are subscribed to Uber One, which is $3 a month.

Uber cited a study that found 79% of shoppers below the age of 30 think mail returns are either somewhat or very annoying and that adding this new feature would provide some convenience as the holiday season approaches.

With this feature, Uber users can also track their packages in real time using the Uber app. Once their package is delivered to the post office of choice, the deliverer will then send a photo confirming it was successfully returned.

As of Wednesday, this feature can be utilized by customers in almost 5,000 cities, including Chicago, Dallas, Denver, San Francisco, and Washington.

Uber’s expanding to the realm of returning packages comes after it announced last month it would start accepting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits next year. SNAP benefits are meant for food, beverages, and even seeds or plants meant for eating, and most grocery stores accept them in the form of EBT cards.
