In West Virginia, SNAP benefits are distributed from the 1st to the 9th of every month. The last round of food stamps will arrive on Monday.

SOCIAL SECURITY UPDATE: FIRST ROUND OF DIRECT PAYMENTS WORTH UP TO $4,555 ARRIVES IN SIX DAYS

Payments are distributed based on the first letter of a household’s name. Letters B, X, Y, and Z received their food stamps on Sunday; C or F on Monday; H, N, and V on Tuesday; I, M, O, or U on Wednesday; and Q or S on Thursday.

Recipients with last names starting with A or W can expect food stamps on Friday; letters J, K, or P on Saturday; letters D, E, or R on Oct. 8; and letters G, L, or T on Oct. 9.

If a household becomes eligible for SNAP after Oct. 9 or after its last name’s date passes, it will still receive benefits for October and will not need to wait until November.

The maximum payment is $281 for a household of one, $1,116 for a household of five, and $1,691 for a household of eight. For each household member above eight, $211 is added.

Items not deemed eligible for the food stamps program include nonfood items, alcohol, tobacco, medicines, gardening items, cleaning or paper products, pet food, or prepared hot foods.
