Yes, you read that right: the left needed Espaillat to craft a parallel, Spanish-language rebuttal full of fallacies to counter the words of a leader who does not mince words.
But what’s really behind this spectacle? Let’s break it down with real facts, thoroughly researched online, and with the clarity a juicy topic like this deserves.
The Curtain Rises: Who is Adriano Espaillat?
Adriano Espaillat is no stranger to the political stage. Born in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, in 1954, he arrived in the United States as a child and grew up in Washington Heights, a New York neighborhood with a strong Hispanic presence.
Espaillat boasts about being the «first undocumented immigrant» to reach Congress, a title the left loves to flaunt as a trophy in their pro-immigration narrative.
Elected in 2016 to represent New York’s 13th District, which includes Harlem and parts of the Bronx, this Democrat has built his career climbing the ladder of victimhood and identity politics.
But let’s not be fooled by the progressive fairy tale.
As chairman of the Hispanic Caucus, Espaillat has been a key player in the Democratic machine that seeks to turn Hispanics into a captive voting bloc.
His selection to respond to Trump is no coincidence: it’s a blatant attempt by the left to use Hispanics as political weapons against a president who prioritizes American citizens, regardless of their origin.

Trump’s speech before Congress on March 4, 2025, marked his triumphant return to national leadership after six weeks in office. It was similar to a State of the Union address but focused on his administration’s new priorities: border security, a strong economy, and a staunch rejection of globalism.
Trump, true to his style, did not hold back: he promised a tough stance against illegal immigration and criticized the woke policies that have infected the country and devastated millions of families worldwide.
The left, unable to stomach Trump’s bluntness, responded with their typical strategy: divide and conquer.
While Senator Elissa Slotkin of Michigan delivered the official English-language response, Espaillat was sent to the Hispanic front to «elevate the voice of the Latino community,» as he put it.
Elevate the voice or manipulate it? Because what we saw in his response, broadcast live on YouTube, was nothing more than a recycled batch of progressive clichés: attacks on Trump for «breaking the law» and «dividing Americans,» without a single concrete proposal and filled with the same lies that Democrats love to feed the complicit media, which then spreads them without questioning a single falsehood.
Espaillat’s response: A predictable script.

With his melodramatic tone, Espaillat accused Trump of attacking immigrants and dismantling the «American Dream.»
Evidence? None. Facts? Zero. Just the same tear-jerking rhetoric that has been failing at the polls for years.
Espaillat also took the opportunity to criticize Trump’s recent executive order declaring English as the official language of the United States, a measure that Hispanic groups called «discriminatory.»
But here’s the truth: that order does not prohibit speaking Spanish; it simply aims to unify the country under a common language, something any functional nation needs. Espaillat, however, prefers to paint Trump as the villain in a cheap soap opera.

Let’s be clear: the left does not defend Hispanics out of love but out of convenience. Espaillat, with his history of advocating for open-border policies, ignores the fact that uncontrolled immigration harms legal Hispanics struggling to get ahead.
Hispanic communities in New York, like those Espaillat represents, face skyrocketing unemployment and crime rates thanks to Democratic policies and «sanctuary cities.» And what does Espaillat do? He delivers flowery speeches in Spanish while his district sinks.
Moreover, his rise to Congress is not the Cinderella story they want us to believe. Before becoming a congressman, Espaillat spent years in the New York State Assembly, weaving alliances with the progressive elite. His «American Dream» came with a strong push from the Democratic system, not from the sweat of his brow.
Conservatism wins, the left sinks.
Trump, on the other hand, does not need speeches in a thousand languages to connect with Americans.
His message is simple: secure borders, jobs for citizens, and a country that does not bow to anyone.
Meanwhile, the left remains trapped in its bubble of empty symbolism. Espaillat speaking in Spanish does not change the fact that Hispanics, according to recent Univision polls, are shifting towards the Republican Party in record numbers.
Why? Because they want jobs, security, and respect, not victimhood sermons.

Well researched and well written article, something the Leftists and their MSM PIMPs refuse to do. Democrats sadly have become everything they have ever claimed to be against but only worse..
Is this the guy who said it’s not fair to require ID to vote, because it would take a half a day for his constituents to find their ID…he doesn’t think very much of us, does he?
As long as people vote for the knee-jerk and think they are doing somehting reat this is what we will end up with.
They are always sneaking into Puerto Rico, too.
