Powerful Explosions Rock Tel Aviv and Haifa as Iran Strikes Israeli Cities in Overnight Barrage

Iran launched an overnight missile offensive targeting Tel Aviv, Haifa, Petah Tikva, and surrounding areas.

According to Israeli officials, at least five civilians were killed and dozens more wounded in the pre-dawn strikes. Israel’s vaunted Iron Dome system intercepted the majority, yet devastating hits on homes, infrastructure, and even near the U.S. Embassy were reported, according to Reuters.

The U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv suffered concussion damage from nearby strikes, prompting the temporary closure of the embassy and consulate. Fortunately, no American personnel were harmed.

The Telegraph reported:

An Iranian missile damaged the American embassy in Israel, it was reported this morning.

It came amid Iran’s early morning attacks on Tel Aviv and the northern city of Haifa in a fourth day of open warfare that killed at least five and injured dozens.

Mike Huckabee, the US ambassador to the country, said the embassy in Tel Aviv was damaged “from concussions of Iranian missile hits” near the building.

“No US personnel were injured,” he added.

Donald Trump on Sunday warned Iran not to strike US targets, saying the “full strength and might” of America’s military could be used against the country.

However, concern grows that the US could be dragged further into the conflict and its forces in the Middle East targeted after helping to shield Israel from Iran’s missile barrage.

Tehran frames the barrage as retribution for Israel’s airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites. Meanwhile, Israel’s defense establishment vows that Iran’s leadership will pay the price with unwavering force.
