WATCH LIVE: Kari Lake to Testify on U.S. Agency for Global Media’s Downfall in Congress — 10 AM ET
President Trump’s US Agency for Global Media (USAGM) Senior Advisor, Kari Lake, will sit before the House Foreign Affairs Committee this morning to testify on her cleanup and DOGE efforts at the agency she heads as White House advisor.
Lake was previously chosen by the President to be the Director of VOA after a new USAGM CEO is confirmed by the Senate, a process that could take years. The President instead appointed Lake to USAGM as a White House Advisor with exclusive powers over the entire agency that oversees several entities, including VOA, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, and the Office of Cuba Broadcasting.
The agency is known for disseminating globalist propaganda worldwide at the taxpayers’ expense. The agency has reportedly also been exposed to foreign spies posing as freelance journalists.
According to a 2024 House Foreign Affairs Committee report, USAGM repeatedly failed “to adequately investigate serious abuses of power and false credentials of employees within USAGM,” creating serious national security concerns.
Lake has said her testimony will “expose the USAGM’s record of waste, mismanagement, self-dealing, and national security failures.”
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Lake recently announced that she has reduced the workforce at USAGM by 85% since March.
Lake is expected to spar with radical left Democrats on the Committee during the hearing at 10 am ET, titled "Spies, Lies, and Mismanagement: Examining the U.S. Agency for Global Media’s Downfall."
