Several Celebrities Come Out To Lend Their Support To Texas Disaster Relief Efforts

Celebrities have taken to social media to lend their support and financial aid to those affected by the tragic floods in Texas.

Search and rescue efforts are still underway in Kerr County, where the worst of the flooding occurred. Forecasters expect several more inches of rain and worsening conditions as they frantically search for those that remain missing.

“I can’t stop thinking about the families in Texas and the overwhelming pain they’re going through right now,”  Khloe Kardashian wrote July 6 on her Instagram Stories.

“As a mother, this kind of tragedy hits in a place words can’t reach. Texas-born actor Matthew McConaughey weighed in on the tragedy and appealed to his fans to support those in need.

“At least 70 lives have been lost, many more are unaccounted for, and countless Texans are hurting – inside and out,” the actor wrote in a statement shared June 6 on Instagram.

“If you’re able, please lend a helping hand where and how you can. It’s gonna be a long road ahead, but right now the shock, the pain, and the chaos need the steady hand of a neighbor. Texans are some of the most resilient and generous people on the planet.”

Country star and Arlington-native Maren Morris also shared support on social media.

“Thinking of my home state right now. the floods are devastating and people are still missing,” the singer wrote July 6.

“There are several places to donate but i’ll be donating to an incredibly impactful fund called the Texas Hill Country Community Foundation. they’ve set up a specific fund to support local efforts (nonprofits, local government, first responders and local shelters). link in my stories + bio.”

Shakira shared her support on X, writing, “Dear San Antonio, our hearts and prayers are with those affected by the flood in central Texas.” She publicly pledged her financial support and rallied her fans to do the same.

“We are donating a portion of tonight’s show proceeds to Catholic Charities of San Antonio, who are providing disaster relief to the families impacted. If you would like to join me in donating, please click on the link below. Your help is important and appreciated,” she wrote.

Kris Jenner addressed the tragedy July 6 on her Instagram Story, saying, “My heart is absolutely shattered by the devastating floods in Texas and the unimaginable loss of those previous children.”

“It’s a tragedy that’s impossible to comprehend and heartbreaking beyond measure,” she wrote.

“Life is so fragile, and at times unbearably unfair,” she continued. “To the families living this nightmare, we are holding you in our hearts, praying for strength, and grieving alongside you.”

Singer Hilary Duff shared a lengthy, heartfelt statement July 6 on Instagram.

“Heartbroken doesn’t begin to cover it. Consumed. Obsessed. Praying for even a shred of a miracle-to find a child alive in the wake of this boundless disaster,” she wrote.

“Tears fall every time I imagine one of these families receiving bad news … waiting … or entire families lost. Just gone. It’s too much to comprehend.”

“Beautiful Texas, I love you,” she wrote.

“To all the boots on the ground-I love you. To those facing tremendous, impossible loss-we are looking at their beautiful faces, embossing them in our minds. We will remember them. Bright lights, gone far too soon.”

Duff shared a personal note about her memories at summer camp, as she reflected on the tragedy.

“I was – and forever will be – that girl with a wild hearted, fierce love for my barefoot summer at camp in the Texas hill country. It imprints on your soul. It changes your identity. “I’m just so deeply, absolutely sorry. Your loss is felt across the world.”

Among the other stars that stood united with those suffering amid the tragedy was Jennifer Garner, who wrote “Texas. God, be near,” on her Instagram Story.

More than 80 people have been confirmed dead as the search for survivors intensifies, according to NBC News.
