President Trump is not letting a busy trip to Scotland stop him from showcasing his sense of humor, even while tough trade negotiations are ongoing.

As TGP readers know, Trump has been visiting Scotland to meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and to work on clinching a massive trade deal with the European Union.

He also enjoys a little downtime playing golf in the UK constituent country, where he owns two courses.

On Sunday, Trump met with globalist EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen at his golf club in Turnberry to talk about the potential EU-US trade deal. The talks follow Trump’s warning to Von der Leyen that he would raise tariffs on most EU goods to 30% if no deal were done by Aug. 1.

While they discussed business in front of reporters, she got a little taste of Trump’s trolling and natural connection with an audience.

“You’re known as a tough negotiator and dealmaker,” Von Der Leyen begins to say before Trump interjects.

“And fair,” Trump says, which causes the room to chuckle.

“And fair,” she responds.

“That’s less important,” Trump quips.

The room then cracks up again in response.

A deal was later reached that put America in the driver’s seat. Von Der Leyen probably now realizes that Trump eventually gets his what he wants one way or another.
