Shotsie Michael Buck Hayes Is Arraigned in Court for Dousing City Councilman with Gasoline and Torching Him Outside His Workplace

29-year-old Shotsie Michael Buck Hayes was arraigned in court on Thursday after dousing Danville, Virginia City Councilman Lee Vogler with gasoline and then lighting him on fire at his office.

As reported earlier by Cristina Laila, Danville, Virginia, City Councilman Lee Vogler was doused in gasoline and set on fire in his office on Tuesday.

According to reports, the attacker, identified as Shotsie Michael Buck Hayes, 29, of Danville, threw five gallons of gasoline on Vogler before setting him on fire.

Danville police said the attack appears to be personal and not related to Vogler’s position as a city councilman.

Shotsie Michael Buck Hayes’ wife filed for divorce just two weeks ago.

Shotsie was arraigned in court on Thursday morning. He requested a court appointed lawyer.

Shotsie Michael Buck Hayes, 29, was with attempted first degree murder and aggravated malicious wounding following the attack.
