REPORT: Disturbing Details Revealed As Stabbing Suspect Laughs While Confessing

A 20-year-old Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, man reportedly laughed while admitting to stalking and stabbing a woman in a park.

Brooklyn Center officers responded Sunday to Willow Lane Park around 2 a.m. after a 911 caller confessed to attacking a homeless woman, according to a criminal complaint obtained by CBS News. The man allegedly admitted that he “stabbed her around 20 times and enjoyed it” and wondered “what the outcome was.”

The man told police he has had the urge to stab and kill a random person from 10 years old, according to court records. He allegedly said he approached the woman after spotting her alone at a bench in the vicinity of a gas station. He traveled to the park with her where the two sat on a bench before he eventually confessed his plan and proceeded to stab her, the criminal complaint alleged.

He allegedly admitted to kicking the woman in the head multiple times and ended his attack after she stopped making noise and he was “tired from stabbing her so many times.” He then discarded the knife, returned home, changed his shirt and washed his hands “because her blood smelled,” authorities said.

The woman allegedly suffered “stab wounds on her arms, torso, chest, hands, shoulders and stomach” and was treated at a hospital. She remains in critical condition but is expected to live. The accused expressed disappointment upon learning the the woman lived, police said.

Brooklyn Center authorities charged with attempted murder in the first degree. He is being held on $2 million bail.

The suspect has a history of violent threats and property damage, according to court records obtained by CBS News. In January, he was charged in Otter Tail County with threatening violence, property damage and disorderly conduct while in a hospital, where he was being treated for alleged “homicidal ideations.”
