Insane Video Shows Alligator Chomping Down Huge Python

Hot damn, I love the Everglades!

If you’re from Florida or familiar with the scene of the state, then you know how much of a problem invasive Burmese pythons are in the legendary Everglades National Park in South Florida. But thankfully, we have alligators to take them out, and that’s exactly what happened in this glorious video I have for you today.

In footage that was posted on social media, an alligator was spotted chomping down a python that was “freshly killed” and trying to rip it into pieces. (RELATED: Alligator’s Pool Party Comes To End After Police Get Involved)

The sighting was reported Friday, Aug. 8 by Alison Joslyn, a wildlife photographer, around the Everglades’ Shark Valley Observation Tower.

“The gator was at the edge of an airboat launch, shaking his head around and the movement caught my eye. … It seemed like he was periodically trying to eat it, with limited success, and then he would rest with it in his mouth,” said Joslyn while speaking with McClatchy News.

Now I’ve seen my fair share of alligators living in Florida for the past half decade, but I’ve never witnessed in person a gator chomp down on a Burmese python, which I love to see by the way as a hater of those slithery giants.

It actually reminds me of this video from 2024:
