Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) refused to reverse her claim that Israel is responsible for a hospital bombing in Gaza at a rally in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.

Tlaib, the only Palestinian American in Congress, said President Joe Biden and the Jewish state are responsible for a “genocide.”

“People think it’s OK to bomb a hospital where children, you know — what’s so hard sometimes is watching those videos and the people telling the kids, ‘Don’t cry.’ And, like, let them cry!” Tlaib shouted at the rally.

“If we’re not crying, something is wrong! And so I’m telling you right now, President Biden, not all of America’s with you on this one,” Tlaib continued. “And you need to wake up and understand that! We are literally watching people commit genocide and killing a vast majority just like this.”

Tlaib’s comments follow a post she made on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday after it was announced that at least 500 people were killed in an airstrike on the Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City. Both Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad have pointed fingers at one another, blaming each other for the deaths, causing a rapid spread of misinformation among media outlets and lawmakers.

The Michigan Democrat said in her X post that Israel was responsible for the hospital bombing despite U.S. intelligence officials announcing that evidence suggests the attack was not Israel’s fault and rather the result of an “errant rocket” launched by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
