REPORT: Man Charged With Sexual Abuse After 11-Year-Old Stepdaughter Allegedly Gives Birth To His Child

An Oklahoma man was charged with sexual abuse Monday after DNA test results showed his 11-year-old stepdaughter allegedly gave birth to his child, according to NBC News.

Thirty-four-year-old Dustin Walker and his 33-year-old wife Cherie Walker were originally charged with child neglect after the 11-year-old girl gave birth at home on August 16, NBC News reported, citing court records. According to the outlet, the couple claimed they didn’t know the 11-year-old was pregnant, and she hadn’t seen a doctor in over a year.

The charges were amended after DNA test results indicated Dustin Walker was a 99.9% DNA match for the baby’s father, according to the outlet. He is accused of abusing the 11-year-old on or between January 1 to August 16, resulting in the pregnancy, NBC News reported. Walker’s wife, Cherie, is accused of enabling the abuse.

Additionally, the couple has been charged with six counts of felony child neglect. The couple shares five children, ages 2, 4, 6, 7, and 9, and court documents alleged the children “were found to be living in dog feces and had no clothing on,” the outlet indicated. The children were removed from the home Tuesday.

The 11-year-old girl’s grandmother, identified as Michelle, told KJRH her daughter and son-in-law “love” their children and have been mischaracterized as “monsters.”

“I just want people to know, we did not know this was happening. None of us,” Michelle said.

“They’ve made my daughter and my son-in-law a monster. They are not. They love those children. They love them,” she added.

Neighbor Cheryl Adkins also spoke with KJRH, telling the outlet that the children allegedly lived without running water.

“They have [had] no running water for the last two or three years. They have dogs in the house. They have cats in the house, six children,” Adkins stated.

Adkins said she made several calls to the police to check on the children, but feared help arrived too late. She also thinks the family knew the 11-year-old was pregnant.

“This is getting to me. They robbed her of her childhood,” Adkins told KJRH. (RELATED: ‘It’s Pretty Gory’: Decapitated Body Found In Woods Behind Popular Fast Food Restaurant)

The couple is being held on $100,000 bond each, the New York Post reported.

They are scheduled to appear in court on September 3 and could spend the rest of their lives in prison if convicted, according to the outlet.
