Trump Weighs In On Cracker Barrel Rebrand

President Donald Trump weighed in on the Cracker Barrel rebrand, posting Tuesday on his social media platform Truth Social that the restaurant chain should “Make Cracker Barrel a WINNER again.”

Cracker Barrel announced its new logo Aug. 25, opting to drop its trademark “old timer” Uncle Herschel in favor of a plain sign reading only “Cracker Barrel.” The company’s decision received immense backlash, most recently from Trump, who stated in a post that the restaurant should heed the “customer response” and go back to its original logo. “Cracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before,” the president wrote. “Make Cracker Barrel a WINNER again. Remember, in just a short period of time I made the United States of America the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World. The restaurant chain released a statement Monday, claiming that it could have “done a better job” in rolling out the rebrand. Cracker Barrel decided not to rescind its new logo and said the restaurant’s trademark “rocking chairs,” fireplace, “peg games” and “antiques” are here to stay.

“If the last few days have shown us anything, it’s how deeply people care about Cracker Barrel. We’re truly grateful for your heartfelt voices,” the statement reads.

The popular fast food chain, Steak ‘n Shake, also denounced the changes, calling the rebrand a “cheap effort” and claiming the restaurant was getting rid of the brand’s “personality altogether” in a post on X. Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. lost nearly 100 million in stock value just days after announcing the rebrand, according to CBS News.

Cracker Barrel did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment.
