Former NFL player Darryl Skrine was arrested Wednesday by the Roswell Police Department (RPD) in Georgia for an alleged “extensive financial fraud scheme,” according to a department press release.
Skrine, who played cornerback for the NFL for over a decade, was slapped with more than a dozen charges after he made over $300,000 by allegedly financially exploiting multiple women he met on dating apps, according to the press release posted on the department’s Facebook page. The RPD began its investigation in July and discovered Skrine was allegedly using the funds to “support his lavish lifestyle” while telling his victims he was having “financial troubles,” the release states. Skrine was arrested on 18 charges total, according to police.
Skrine’s three alleged victims were located in Wisconsin, North Carolina and New York, and police suspect there are more victims to come, according to the press release.
