President Donald Trump has kept an uncharacteristically low profile ahead of Labor Day, prompting speculation online as to his whereabouts.
Phrases like “Where is Trump?” and “Trump is dead” were trending on X Saturday afternoon as the president’s appeared to largely stay out of the public eye, with the official White House schedule showing him with no formal outings or events planned for Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.
His Truth Social account has also been silent since Friday.
However, while social media users stoked theories as to the “missing” MAGA leader in “Trump is dead” posts and spread memes joking about his whereabouts, the president was seen hours ago wearing a white shirt and red MAGA hat while going into a motorcade en route to a golf course, where he was photographed.
All appeared to be business as usual for Trump as he headed to his Bedminster golf club, where he often resides on weekends.
On X, the rumors continued as users speculated health concerns might be prompting Trump to keep a lower public health profile. Bruises observed on the president’s hand recently went viral, prompting the White House to issue a statement that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, “a benign and common condition, particularly for individuals over the age of 70.”

The speculation follows more widespread scrutiny that was similarly assigned to former President Joe Biden for years during the four years he spent in Washington following his presidential victory.
During his term as president, Biden routinely went long periods of time without any public appearances — far greater than Trump’s absence — without much media attention.

Even before he assumed the presidency in 2021, critics expressed deep concerns about Biden’s mental acuity and overall health as he was frequently observed in a state of confusion, losing his train of thought, or experiencing physical difficulties.
The Biden White House at the time rebutted all concerns, yet the former president’s health while in office remains the object of congressional scrutiny, particularly after he was diagnosed with aggressive cancer shortly after ceding the presidency to Trump in January.
