Trump Speaks Out On Random Stabbing That

THE MUSEUM OF THE BIBLE — President Donald Trump addressed the brutal murder of a Ukrainian woman on the Charlotte metro during remarks Monday.

Authorities released surveillance footage Friday morning showing Iryna Zarutska boarding the Lynx Blue Line in Charlotte, North Carolina, at 9:46 p.m. on August 22. Decarlos Brown Jr., 34, pulls out a pocket knife and stabs her three times just minutes later, WBTV reported. Trump indicated that he had seen the footage Monday, as he continues his focus on cracking down on crime. “I just give my love and hope to the family of the young woman who was stabbed this morning or last night in Charlotte by a madman,” Trump said of the viral killing.

“A lunatic just got up and started. It’s right on the tape, not, not really watchable, because it’s so horrible, but just viciously stamped. She’s just sitting there. So they’re evil people. We have to be able to handle that. If we don’t handle that, we don’t have a country,” he added.

Police later arrested Brown, the outlet reported. Brown has multiple arrests dating to 2011, according to the outlet, including robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny and communicating threats. He previously served five years in prison for the armed robbery charge, according to WSOC-TV.

After the attack, the footage shows Brown walking through the rail car after the attack. Brown is seen removing his red sweatshirt as passengers notice blood dripping from him. Zarutska collapsed in her seat after the stabbing and was pronounced dead on the train.

Zarutska “had recently arrived in the United States, seeking safety from the war and hoping for a new beginning,”a GoFundMe campaign that is raising money for her family, says.

Brown was arrested after exiting the train at the next stop and receiving treatment for a hand laceration.

Trump added that his administration “will get to the end” of brutal crime and murder in America.

“And you know, when you have horrible killings, you have to take horrible actions,” he said.
