A Massachusetts man faces criminal charges after video captured him attacking a Trump supporter dressed in an inflatable costume of the president near a Swampscott beach.
Michael Curll was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon following the Saturday incident at King’s Beach. Jonathan Silveira of Peabody said he was walking to an anti-Trump rally when Curll confronted him, NBC10 reported. (RELATED: Fan Kicked Out Of MLS Game For Wearing MAGA Hat)
“He just didn’t want me there. He kept yelling and screaming,” Silveira said. “I kept telling him to get away from me, and he kept telling people around him that he wanted to punch me in the face.”
Silveira’s girlfriend recorded both the attack and Curll’s subsequent arrest. Silveira never made it to the “No Kings” protest.

“I don’t understand why he got that crazy. I was just trying to get a few laughs,” Silveira said. “I thought it would be a couple of back-and-forths, you know, nothing like that.”
Curll pleaded not guilty Monday in court. His attorney claimed Silveira provoked the altercation and struck Curll in the face with a metal pole.
“Absolutely not,” Silveira told NBC10. “Not even close.”
Court records show Curll faces several unrelated charges in Massachusetts and Connecticut, including assault and battery, drug possession and criminal trespassing. He is scheduled to return to court in December.
