Baton Rouge rapper Young Bleed is fighting for his life in an intensive care unit (ICU) after suffering a medical emergency Saturday, following an appearance at Verzuz.
The rapper, whose real name is Glenn Clifton Jr., suffered a brain aneurysm, Hot New Hip Hop reported.
Master P, who also attended the major music battle event alongside Snoop Dogg and other music greats, took to social media Tuesday and confirmed the serious nature of Young Bleed’s condition.
“@snoopdogg and I was just talking about how we have to love eachother while we here! We just turned up with our brother @therealyoungbleed @verzuztv Thanks for all y’all prayers and we need more prayers for him and his family as he fights in ICU #GodGotUs #NoLimitSoldier Tell your people you love them every time they walk out the door,” he wrote.
Young Bleed’s sister issued a statement on social media on behalf of the rapper’s family, debunking false reports that the star died Tuesday, according to TMZ. She firmly asserted the fake news was disturbing, as his family is trying to surround him with positivity and prayer.
The 47-year-old rapper appeared to be vibrant and energetic when he performed his signature hit, “How Ya Do That” for the ComplexCon audience. It remains unclear if he suffered his medical emergency during the event or shortly after departing the venue.
The exact nature of his condition and the circumstances leading up to this health crisis remain unclear. (RELATED: Kim Kardashian Blames Kanye West For Brain Aneurysm)
