The unnamed man initially attended a dinner date with Fonseca after meeting her on social media, the sheriff’s office said. Fonseca later introduced him to Reynolds, allegedly referring to him as her “uncle,” and at one point the three went into the victim’s car where the incident took place, according to the statement.

“They robbed him of his shoes, his phone, his money, and his car. They then took turns cutting his throat before throwing him over the bridge rail and into Escambia River. They drove away in his stolen car,” the police statement reads. The victim managed to survive despite his injuries, the sheriff’s office said, and police arrested the couple Monday.

The victim’s car was later found on fire, Click Orlando reported.

Police found the couple in possession of drugs, according to the arrest report cited by WEAR. The couple is now facing charges of attempted murder, armed carjacking, armed robbery and kidnapping, and drug possession.
