A dog on a cannabis-fueled rampage ripped its owner off the toilet on Oct. 5 in a brutal attack that left the woman bleeding.
The pet Rottweiler, named Blau, mauled the victim from Gaylord, Michigan, for nearly an hour after it consumed a THC gummy, according to the Daily Mail. There was “a lot of blood on the living room carpet” and “an immense amount of blood on the on the floor and walls,” animal control personnel who responded to the scene said, per the outlet.

The 82-pound pet stampeded through the house after the initial attack, which caused the pet owner to lock herself inside her bedroom, the outlet reported. The victim was found lying “face up on the bed covered in blood,” said officer Melissa Fitzgerald from the Otsego County Animal Control & Shelter, per the Mail.
Animal control subdued and caged Blau as soon as they arrived at the scene, where the dog was found standing by a window and roaming around the property, according to the outlet. The wounded pet owner was airlifted to an ICU in Traverse City for emergency surgery, as she was unable to walk after the attack and nearly lost her right arm, the Mail reported.

The victim’s father said he purchased cannabis gummies for Blau because his daughter’s divorce had made the dog “very stressed,” per the outlet Her estranged husband initially asked if he could rehabilitate the Rottweiler after its violent rampage, but he quickly changed his mind, asking if he could shoot the dog himself instead, the Mail reported. An officer informed him that doing so was illegal.
Blau was euthanized with the victim’s consent on Oct. 17 after she was released from the hospital, the outlet reported.
