The White House will hold a press briefing on Thursday afternoon following the mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will be joined by National Economic Council Director Lael Brainard and National Security Council spokesman John Kirby.

The briefing comes after a gunman shot and killed at least 18 people across two locations in Maine. The suspect, Robert Card, is at large.
The White House said on Thursday night that President Joe Biden had been briefed on the active shooter incident while attending the State Dinner with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Biden individually spoke to Gov. Janet Mills (D-ME), Sens. Angus King (I-ME) and Susan Collins (R-ME), and Rep. Jared Golden (D-ME) by phone, pledging full federal support.
The press conference is expected to begin at 1 p.m. EDT on Thursday.
