Best Black Friday Is Finally Here, and We’re Covering It Live
Today is finally Black Friday, the biggest and best shopping day of the year. The WIRED Reviews team is tracking trends and discounts live.
The Best Sonic Electric Toothbrush Is Nearly Half Off
Sonic toothbrushes are generally gentler on both teeth and gums while still providing a deep-clean sensation. While you can’t go wrong with any option in the Philips Sonicare lineup, the 4100 model stands out, especially at its current price of $30. It offers strong vibrations that are never harsh, and the slimmer brush head is perfect for those with smaller mouths. The electric toothbrush includes all the essentials: a pressure sensor to prevent excessive force, a two-minute timer with auto shut-off, and two intensity levels. The battery lasts for two weeks on a single charge, and a light and beep will alert you when it’s time to replace the brush head. It also comes in a variety of colors, making it a great gift option, and at this price, I’d consider buying an extra one for a friend.
I Just Upgraded to These Headphones and I Have Zero Regrets
Everyone on the WIRED Reviews team is an expert in their own right, but I’m always amazed by the spot-on advice from our audio-visual writers. They’ve long lauded the Nothing Ear (a) earbuds, and I recently got so annoyed with my AirPods that I sprang for this deal (at a much lower price than usual, which you can also get in on for Black Friday.)
I’ve used our favorite earbuds for a week and my only regret is not getting them sooner. They have balanced sound that can be tweaked further in the app, they’re comfortable, they have great on-board controls, and they look freaking cool inside my ears. What more could a young dubstep enthusiast ask for?
One of My Favorite Heated Blankets is Just $27
Photograph: Louryn Strampe
Being an anemic midwesterner, it is my great privilege and joy to test heated blankets for WIRED. And while I rarely meet a heated blanket that I dislike, this little lap blanket has been in heavy rotation in my living room ever since I first tried it. It isn’t too big, too heavy, or too fancy, but it’s the perfect couch-side companion to keep your lap or your feet warm. It has a three-hour automatic timer and four different warmth levels. This Black Friday deal makes it even more affordable than usual.
If you want something super-plush or with more control options, check out our heated blanket buying guide.
The Kids Kindle Drops Below $100
My 10-year-old daughter’s Christmas list is so unhinged I’m almost embarrassed to discuss it. It opens with a miniature Australian Shepherd she wants to name Butterscotch and continues with gold-plated hoop earrings and a $50 Sephora gift card (she does not care for Ulta).
I have no idea how I’m going to navigate all that… but this may be the ticket. She’s also been asking for a Kindle, having lost her previous Kindle, and at $95, it’s an easy win.
A Bunch of HexClad Cookware Is on Sale for Black Friday

Photograph: Louryn Strampe
When I reviewed HexClad, I gave it a score of 5—which translates to “Recommended with reservations.” Part of those reservations were due to the price, which I think is often too high for the value you’re getting. But right now, Amazon is hosting a sale on many different variations and styles of HexClad hybrid cookware.
Hybrid cookware isn’t for everybody, and I still maintain that any home chef worth their Maldon sea salt should have a good stainless steel pan and a good nonstick pan. HexClad cookware offers a mix of both, and it’s perfectly sufficient for day-to-day cooking. If you know you want hybrid pans, this sale is worth checking out.
This Hydroflash is Cheap Enough To Do The Wardrobe Match Thing
Call me a Boomer, but the trend of getting Stanley Cups in many colors to match your outfits is something I will never understand.
However, this stylish HydroFlash mug is down to $17 in some colors right now, which means you could probably get the primary colors plus black and tan for ~$100 if you want to coordinate your cups and your clothes!
Save Me, Keurig K-Café

Keurig
K-Café Smart Single Serve Coffee Maker
Hello, Internet friends, it is Black Friday and I am here to start my shift. The sun is slated to rise in approximately 45 minutes, and up until that time I will be making copious amounts of coffee to try and jump-start my brain.
I just used the Keurig K-Café to make an extra-strength cup of coffee, which was supremely easy thanks to the intuitive onboard controls that even my limited post-Thanksgiving cognitive function is capable of using. It’s one of my favorite pod-style coffee makers, partially due to the built-in milk frother that makes at-home specialty drinks feel accessible. And access them, I shall.
This Headset Would Be a Great Gift For A gamer
If you read our list of the best gaming headsets, you’ll see it’s dominated by the SteelSeries line. This one is an honorable mention, but got an 8/10 score in our review—it got bumped down presumably because so many other SteelSeries headsets got 9/10. At $105, it’s 35% off and in the sweet spot for gifting as a present that’s definitely not cheap but also not overpriced. It has 60 60-hour battery life and a dongle that allows it to switch between consoles.
Many People Are Saying This Is The Best and Most Stylish Tote and It’s On Sale
A Bluetooth Blast
The Tribit Stormbox Blast 2 is a very large, very loud Bluetooth speaker. I’ve used mine in the backyard and been able to hear my music clearly even when someone was mowing a few doors down. It’s normally $300 but Black Friday has dropped the price.
For a fully traditional Black Friday experience, use it to play “NEON PALM MALL” while drinking some Snapple and be instantly transported back to the doorbuster era.
The Smoothest Fitness Ring Experience Is On Sale
There is no Apple Ring, and there may never be an Apple Ring, which means Apple stans such as myself are not seriously entertaining the idea of a fitness ring at the moment.
However, if you’ve got a Samsung phone (I suppose do as well—my work phone), reviewer Adrienne So says the Samsung Galaxy ring offers the smoothest integration of any she’s tested, and she’s tested them all.
It’s normally pretty pricey at $400, but you can save $120 on Black Friday.
Start Me Up
Another deal that’s fresh today: The Noco Boost can be a true lifesaver if you’re pushing your car’s battery to the end of its useful life, or just leaving your vehicle idle for a few days in extreme temperatures.
We saw the price drop to 50% off this morning.
Speaking of starting up… does the below video capture the exact moment American tech culture peaked? Some say yes. I also say yes.
Your In-Laws Are Coming to Christmas Dinner After All
Imagine it now… You’re in charge of hosting the annual Christmas dinner, which is already stressful enough. And just when you thought your guest list was complete and plans underway, you get the heads up that more family is attending—and staying with you. If your guest room is in disarray or perhaps nonexistent, you have time and Black Friday mattress sales on your side! This is one of our top-tested cheap mattress options that performs like a luxury one, designed for lumbar support, pressure relief, and motion isolation. WIRED Reviewer Molly Higgins found that it was on the firmer side, but was agreeable when it came to getting the support and comfort she needed. And you can stay comfortable with your budget, because it’s under $1,000 as part of Brooklyn Bedding’s early Black Friday sale.
Let There Be Lights!
I feel like I say this every big sale event, but my favorite thing is going to my Amazon cart and seeing how much things I’ve been eyeing for weeks or years have dropped. I bought a set of high-power/low-energy lights like this for my mom’s basement, and they lit it up like a warehouse. I just moved into a new house with a very large and dark basement, lit by crusty old spiral-shaped fluorescent lights with, like, two lumens of light each and have been eyeing these. If you’ve got a dark basement, attic, or garage, these modern can make a huge difference.

Moccamaster
KGBV Select Coffee Maker
Good morning and happy Black Friday! We’re starting the day off with a buzzy deal: The apocalypse-resistant (no coffee machine is fully apocalypse-proof!) Moccamaster just dropped to $179 on Amazon. That’s a lot for a drip coffee maker, but this is not any drip coffee maker, it’s an heirloom-quality Dutch brewer famed for its durability and consistency. Buy a color you will like in five to ten years.
