Macron’s empty promises, again?

Treaties between the UK and France to stop the Channel crossings date back to 2018 with the Sandhurst Treaty.

Successive ‘upgrades’ saw a situation where, by late 2022, the UK had pledged over £140 million in total to France for Channel security measures.

There was just one problem: France was happy to collect the billions in UK taxpayers’ money, but nothing was done to prevent the crossings.

In early June, we reported: Macron’s France Promises to Finally Stop Migrant Boats Crossing the Channel as Starmer’s UK Is Overrun With Illegals.

Late June: AT LONG LAST: France To Change Legislation to Finally Try To Stop UK’s Migrant Invasion by Small Boats Crossing the Channel.

This reboot was gladly announced as a result of the close relations between Emmanuel Macron and Keir Starmer.

In July 2025, during Macron’s state visit to the UK, he and Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a ‘groundbreaking partnership’ to finally start tackling illegal Channel crossings.

And still, nothing was done by France to stop the crossings.

Bombshell partnership.

As for the Macron-Starmer partnership, it’s good for a little warmongering, as you can read in ULTIMATE ESCALATION: United Kingdom and France To Work Together on ‘Nuclear Deterrence’ to ‘Protect Europe’.

Today (28) yet again, French authorities vowed to start intercepting small boats in the Channel, following pressure from the UK.

But here’s the catch: only WITHOUT the illegal migrants.

What a clown show.

BBC reported:

“The change in policy comes after Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer wrote to President Emmanuel Macron urging him to back the plan and saying we currently ‘have no effective deterrent’ in the Channel, according to a report in Le Monde.

French security forces will be allowed to stop the small boats at sea, but only before they’ve picked up their passengers, the maritime police force has confirmed to the BBC.”
