John Kirby: ‘No question’ Iran has complicity across the board

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said there is “no question” Iran is being complicit in the war between Israel and the Hamas terrorist group.
Kirby’s Thursday morning statement comes after Iran has been the subject of scrutiny over its involvement in Middle East conflicts, with Iran believed to have supported the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks in Israel. Iran also supports Hezbollah on Israel’s northern border with Lebanon.

“There’s no question, Mika, that Iran has complicity here across the board,” Kirby told Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski. “They’ve been supporting groups like Hamas and Hezbollah for years. They’re supporting these militia groups in Iraq and Syria that have attacked our troops in recent days, and that’s at the direction and facilitation of the IRGC.”
Kirby also said that the Biden administration has sent a “strong signal to everybody in the region” and that it does not want to see further escalation. He added that the United States has “significant national security interest” at stake right now and that it is taking its responsibilities on national security “seriously.”
