Syria Celebrates the End of Sanctions and the Beginning of Reconstruction
Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa announced the complete lifting of sanctions on the country, describing it as the beginning of a new chapter for Syria after 14 years of sacrifice, patience, and suffering by the Syrian people. Speaking from Mount Qasioun, he said the day marks the start of a Syria free from sanctions and the end of a long period of pain.
Al-Sharaa expressed deep gratitude to those who endured displacement, loss, and hardship, as well as to the martyrs whose sacrifices made this moment possible. He also thanked international supporters, including President Donald Trump, the U.S. Congress, and leaders such as Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Mohammed bin Salman, and Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, along with Arab, Islamic, and European countries.
He concluded by stating that a phase of national reconstruction has begun, calling on the Syrian people to unite in rebuilding the country and moving beyond years of conflict and sanctions.
