Reports of Major Helicopter Collision in New Jersey — Fatalities Reported (VIDEO)

Authorities are responding to reports that two helicopters collided in the air Sunday in Hammonton, New Jersey, causing both aircraft to crash and prompting a significant emergency response.

The crash occurred near Basin Road in Atlantic County, New Jersey.

Officials have confirmed at least one death, and emergency crews are working to extricate at least one injured person from the wreckage.

Images circulating from the scene in nearby Hammonton show thick smoke rising.

One helicopter is believed to have come down in a wooded section, while the second aircraft was seen burning after impact.

Footage shared on social media appears to capture one of the helicopters losing control and spinning in the air moments before crashing.

Search-and-rescue teams remain on the ground as crews continue to assess the scene and determine whether there are additional victims.

Authorities have not yet released official details on the cause of the collision or the total number of people involved.

Prayers for everybody affected by this terrible incident.
